All adults (18 years of age and older) are checked for identification at Fort Lee, and military personnel and their families must present a CAC ID card or military family card.

First-time visitors without federal identification or with expired identification must visit the Visitor Control Center (VCC). A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport or driver's license, must be presented for a background check.

Located on Lee Ave, VCC is open weekdays (Monday-Friday) 0800-1600. For first-time visits, you may submit a prior authorization request using DES Form 190-3 (Individual Request) or DES Form 190. -2 (group requests).
